random blog.

ah, i'm bored at my house, so i decided to get on safari, which i never, ever use and post a blog on here. well, so far nothing big has happened yet, besides the bake sale that happened yesterday. we had a blast, and we got some unexpected visitors... :) oopsie! but oh well. we still did really good. and i was so happy when someone bought my brownies. lol. i may sound desperate and silly, but i don't care. my parents talked to my brother, and his girlfriend is supposed to be on t.v. or some reason or another. she's a hairdresser, and i don't know how that works out, but yeah! haha. i'm really ready to find out if he is going to come down for the christmas break this year or not. he hasn't been to childress since i was 8 years old. yeah... its crazy. but i'm really, really ready for hannah jones to come again! we have been hanging out a lot since we found out grandpa got sick. a lot has happened since then, so we've become really close, and i love it! especially since i'm only going to have her for one more year.

but the most exciting thing happened before the break even got started- COACH HARDIN CAME BACK TO SCHOOL!:) i was so happy when december 8th finally got here. it's so awesome to finally have him back in athletics checking in on us to see how we're doing, and being with him on the sidelines of basketball games. i just can't get over the fact that this is my last year in jr. high, and the first semester has already gone by. then there won't be anymore coach hardin in athletics, or anything like that. but i'm kinda ready for it. but i guess i'll just wait and see what this next semester brings:) thats all for now. love you!

November 30, 2008

that was the day that my grandpa died. at 6:55 p.m. i remember whenever my dad came over to hannah's house to tell me that he had died. we had been watching hellboy 2 when someone had rang the doorbell. i thought maybe it was jake coming home to get something and the door was locked. but then when donna opened it up, and i saw my dad there, i knew what he had to say. he walked over to the couch and told me we had to talk. he asked if i wanted to talk outside, or right there. i said outside. when we got onto the porch and sat down, he said the exact same thing he did when he told me grandpa had cancer. "brandi, there's no easy way to tell you this..." and then my ears just kinda turned off and i started to cry. my dad even started to tear up, which was crazy. that was the second time i have ever seen him cry in my life. after i calmed down for a few minutes, me, my dad, and hannah :) went over to my grandparents to say good-bye to him. that was easily the hardest thing that i have ever done in my entire life. i broke down crying before i even got all the way into the room. before long, mr. and mrs. rogers were over there too. and i had to call keisha richards and tell her that he had passed away, so then she came over with mrs. adams and we all just prayed on the porch for a little while. hannah was being a great friend just sitting there and let me cry on her shoulder; but we couldn't help but laugh whenever mr. rogers was talking to my grandma and he goes, "well i'm really sorry about your husband. i like your floors." me and hannah just busted out laughing at what he said. good thing, too :) but yeah, it was a crazy time. i had to call my friends and tell them what happened. and my brother. i don't think i called anyone without crying. we had his funeral on tuesday, and i tried reading the poem called 'God Only Takes the Best' but i read the first two lines, and i could NOT do it. so my cousin, hannah jones :) did it for me. afterward we all went to my grandma's house. some of hannah's friends from vernon came to the funeral, which was super sweet of them (and they were HILARIOUS, so they made us feel better). we all just kinda hung out for an hour or so, then they headed back to vernon, and we went to my house to change and stayed there until they left.
it was a roller coaster week, but i'm getting through it, thanks to all my friends :) i love them all!

audrey said to post a blog..

so i'm posting one! ha. we just took the benchmark in science... again. anyway- and now i'm just listening to music and typing about whatever is on my mind. eek, well my birthday is in 5 more days! i'm so excited to be 14 :) oh and this week i bought Taylor Swift's new CD and i love love loveeee it! my favorite song on there is called Fifteen. even though i'm not fifteen yet, i can relate to all the things that go on during the song. except the whole becoming a famous singer and all. cause uh. i can't sing to save my life! ha. dang, well if you want an update on my grandapa, here it is: i think friday or saturday hospice gave him a couple of days, but he is still alive! he ONLY talks to us in Czech anymore. of course, none of us can really talk back that well. i kinda expect him to die either today or tomorrow. but i am SO thankful for all of my friends praying for me and for audrey taking me in for the past few days! but they have all been a fantastic support system and i don't know how i'm ever going to pay them all back for what they have done for me! but on a happy note, i had such a great weekend with my cousin. she is from vernon and she came down on saturday and i taught her the drag in childress and showed her around this big ol' town. we talked about everything. and how we got the good family genes. haha. you just had to be there. but yeah, more the next few days. love you!

updates!

wow! i haven't written anything on here in a LONG time. and a ton of things have happened since i last wrote something-

basketball has started up again and i get to be manager again this year. and hopefully hannah will be helping me out, too! another thing is that coach hardin is like, days away from getting to come back to school! everyone is completely ready for him to get back. we all miss him so much! school is weird without him, so it'll be great when he gets here. (and its the monday after my birthday, November 29th, so its the best birthday gift ever!)

another really cool thing going on right now and for the next few months is that i will be going to the grand canyon with some other kids from school on spring break. i am so excited to be getting to go. until the actual trip, all of us will be thinking of ways to raise money to reach our goal to get to go on the trip. everyone can't wait to get started!

and the most important and hardest thing of all: on November 5, i found out that my grandpa has cancer of the brain, heart, liver, lungs, kidney, spleen, stomach, spinal chord, spine, and ribs. they gave him a few weeks to live. and now he has 7-10 days. the doctors said that he will probably go into a coma before he actually dies; so we never know when the last time he wakes up will really be his last. but i'm just really grateful to all the people that have kept my family in their prayers. it really does help a lot. and my friends...! wow! they have been absolutely amazing through out this whole thing. even people i didn't think could care less about me have been texting me saying their family has been praying for me. it really means so so sooo much to my family and me.

but yeah, thats what all is going on in my life right now. its been a crazy month. just when i think last month was crazy, all this hits me. but i know that with the help of my friends and the strength of God, i'll be able to get through it. just gotta take it one day at a time!

ugh. bad week.

wow. this has been a terrible week! first, obama has been elected president, which i totally don't like, but whatever. i can't change it and couldn't do anything about it in the first place. i know i'll probably get a lot of comments about that, but guess what. i don't care! so different subject. well, today i found out that my grandpa has cancer of the brain, heart, lungs, spleen, liver, kidney's, and spinal chord. (i think thats it.) he only has a few more weeks to live; so yeah, it's not really a fun time for my family right now. but other than that, nothing is really going on in my life. so just leave me comments and stuff. okay; love you.

Columbus Day, 2008

for my Columbus Day, i was at my house alone until 3, but i couldn't do anything until my room was clean! so i basically did that and just hung out on myspace and texted people. but then just a little before 3 i had to go to my grandparents house and help out there for a few minutes. after that, i went over to the high school to work the concession stand with my dad. then right before the freshmen games, i went to the junior high and helped my mom close up there. after we finished with that, we headed back over to the high school and i watched the end of the freshmen game! then we had to close up again over at the high school and wait for everyone to leave. once we got back to my house i got my phone back! which was the highlight of my whole day:) but yeah, Columbus discovered the new world, and i worked a concession stand!!

changes.

dude. i hate how SO much stuff can change in like, two or three days. and i'm not talking about a couple small things, like the color of your hair or your new favorite color. i'm talking about like, stuff falling apart and people moving out of your life, when you thought they would be there to stay for a while. i don't mean to sound dramatic or anything, but i just hate how that happens. like, one day everything is going great and you know you don't have to worry about anything. then the next day, everything just basically falls apart. and like, all the bad stuff comes right at you at once. and then i started thinking about how much stuff has changed in a YEAR. dude eek; don't even get me started on thatt! but anyway, i've learned to just move on with life, because if you don't; it's going to move on with out you.
